Rising Stars: Meet Tania Vergara Pérez

Tania Vergara, born in Cuba in 1968, is a distinguished dance artist who founded Ballet Contemporáneo Endedans in Camagüey in 2002, blending classical, contemporary, and theatrical dance. Moving to the United States in 2014, she launched Endedans Contemporary Ballet with the support of four women, marking its U.S. debut in Sarasota in 2023. The company celebrated National Women’s Month with performances dedicated to notable writers and was named the Best New Dance Company of 2023. Despite challenges like financing and lack of a permanent base, Tania remains committed to her artistic vision, creating works that entertain, provoke thought, and explore complex themes through dance.
